Top 10 Poisonous Animals

# 10. Inland Taipan Snake
This is the most poisonous animal in the snake category. A single bite can kill up to a 100 human adults. The venom is so neuro-toxic that it can kill a human in less than 45 minutes. It's venom is about 400 times more toxic than that of the cobra, making it one of the most venomous snakes in the world.
 # 9. Poison Dart Frog
The backs of the poison dart frog ooze a slimy neurotoxin that is meant to keep predators away. Each frog produces enough of the toxin to kill 10 humans, though, strangely, in captivity, the frogs do not secrete this poison. The frogs are brilliantly coloured and live mainly in Central and South America.
 # 8. Stone Fish
This fish is found in the Pacific and Indian ocean and is the most poisonous animal as far as the sea is concerned. It stores its toxins in deadly spikes that are found on the surface of it's body and hurts it's predators really badly. Often described as 'The worst pain known to man', the stonefish administers a sting that can cause a human to go into shock, paralysis and can lead to the death of tissues. If immediate medical attention is not administered, then it can cause amputations and deaths in humans.
 # 7. Marbled Cone Snail
These snails are found in the salt water environment. One drop of the venom of the marbled cone snail is enough to kill about 20 humans. A bite will result in severe pain, numbness, tingling and swelling in the area of the bite. It may also lead to breathing failure, muscle paralysis and vision changes. There is no anti-venom available for the this creature's bite.

# 6. Puffer Fish
Puffer Fish are the second most poisonous vertebrate on earth (the first one is golden dart Frog). The meat of some species is a delicacy in both Japan (as fugu ) and Korea (as bok-uh ) but the problem is that the skin and certain organs of many puffer fish are very poisonous to humans.
This puffy fish produce rapid and violent death..Puffer's poisoning causes deadening of the tongue and lips, dizziness, vomiting, rapid heart rate, difficulty breathing, and muscle paralysis. Victims die from suffocation as diaphragm muscles are paralyzed. Most of the victims die after four to 24 hours. There is no known antidote, Most deaths from fugu happen when untrained people catch and prepare the fish.
Statistics show that there were 20 to 44 incidents of fugu poisoning per year between 1996 and 2006 in all of Japan and up to six incidents per year led to death. Since Fugu's poison can cause near instantaneous death, only licensed chefs are allowed to prepare it.
 # 5. Death Stalker Scorpion
Contrarily to the popular belief most of the scorpions are relatively harmless to humans as stings produce only local effects (pain, numbness or swelling). However, the Death Starker Scorpion is highly dangerous species because its venom is a powerful cocktail of neurotoxins which causes an intense and unbearable pain, then fever, followed by coma, convulsions, paralysis and death. Fortunately, while a sting from this scorpion is extremely painful, it would be unlikely to kill a healthy, adult human. Young children, the old, or infirm (with a heart condition) are at the biggest risk.
Death stalker scorpions are spread in North Africa and Middle East.

# 4. Box Jellyfish
Also known as the wasp jellyfish, this salad-bowl sized jellyfish can have up to 60 tentacles as long as 15 feet. Each tentacle has enough toxin to kill 50 humans. They are found in Australia, the Philippines, and many other tropical areas. Since 1884 at least 5,567 deaths have been attributed to these creatures.
# 3. Blue-Ringed Octopus

The Blue-Ringed Octopus is very small, only the size of a golf ball, but its venom is so powerful that can kill a human. Actually it carries enough poison to kill 26 adult humans within minutes, and there is no antidote. They are currently recognized as one of the world's most venomous animals.
Its painless bite may seem harmless, but the deadly neurotoxins begin working immediately resulting in muscular weakness, numbness, followed by a cessation and breathing and ultimately death.
They can be found in tide pools in the Pacific Ocean, from Japan to Australia.

# 2. Asian Cobra
While the Asian cobra does not have the deadliest venom, it does make the most of what it has, causing the largest chunk of the 50 thousand deaths by snakebite per year. An average cobra is about 1 metre in length.

# 1. Brazillian Wandering Spider
The Brazilian wandering spider, also known as the Banana spider or the Phoneutria, is one of the most poisonous animal alive. It's toxins are so lethal that a minuscule amount which equals 0.006 mg can kill a mouse. This most poisonous spider is said to contain the most potent neuro-toxic venom among all other spiders. This spider administers a venomous sting that not only causes excruciating pain but can also lead to Priapism (Uncomfortable degrees of erections that end up lasting for many hours and can lead to impotence) in males. What adds to these spider's lethal powers is the fact that they hide during the daytime in populated areas and therefore the chances of bites are upped.

Although most headaches are mild and temporary, but some people have headaches that are so severe they need to consult a doctor for pain relief.

Main causes of headache:
  • Prolonged tension or stress, known as tension headaches
  • Migraine is especially triggered due to hormonal changes, certain foods, strong odors, lack of sleep and even stress.
  • Eyestrain
  • Smoking
  • Light sensitivity
  • Sitting constantly in an abnormal position.
  • Sinus headaches can occur after upper respiratory infections such as a cold.
  • Cluster headaches are a relatively uncommon type of headache. They tend to occur in clusters over a few days, weeks or months with long headache-free periods lasting from months to years.
Although headaches can be painful and debilitating, they are usually not due to dangerous conditions. However, occasionally headaches can be a sign of something more serious.
When to contact doctor:

  • Fever and/or stiff neck along with headache.
  • strikes suddenly with great intensity
  • You just can't sleep and is worse when you lie down
Treatment:
  • Taking an over-the-counter painkiller such as acetaminophen or ibuprofen helps a lot.
  • Take proper rest and prevent from eyestrain.
  • Correcting poor posture and exercising
  • Sinus headaches usually require antibiotics or other treatments to clear up the infection.
  • Stronger medications may need to be prescribed if the headaches are more severe.
  • Chiropractic spinal manipulation - the primary form of care provided by doctors of chiropractic - may be an effective treatment option for tension headaches and headaches that originate in the neck.
Preventive measures:
  • Recognize the reason of your headache and try to avoid the situation.
  • Take proper rest and exercise daily.

Keep a headache diary. Gradually you will be able to know the trigger for your headache, knowing the trigger means half battle won.
