Unhealthy Snacks to Avoid

Strawberry yogurt

In a perfect world, everyone (kids included) would snack on carrots and kale chips. For those who do, hats off. But for everyone else, once you step away from the produce aisle, the choice of snacks can run the gamut from nutritionally vapid to downright deleterious. And sadly, consumers are often at the mercy of the processed food industry with its seductive yet unhealthy ingredients and powerful marketing machines. It’s all too easy to be swayed by items marketed specifically to children and parents — with enticing prices, misleading labels and the promise of convenience.

But when consumers start to dig a bit, they'll get a better picture of what’s going on inside the snacks they devour. Following is a snapshot of some of the worst offenders. The list is by no means exhaustive, but these examples provide some clues about what to look out for in the snack aisle.

1. Pop-Secret Homestyle Popcorn
Popcorn should be a great snack. It is a whole grain, naturally low in calories, and recent research has found that popped kernels are surprisingly high in antioxidants, even higher than many fruits and vegetables. So where did this super-snack go super-wrong? In the hands of food manufacturers, that’s where. How does this version compare to an order of McDonald’s Kids Fries? A serving of Pop-Secret has 70 more calories, 7 grams more total fat, 2 grams more saturated fat, 4.5 grams more trans fat, and 310 milligrams more sodium than the fried spuds.

Serving size: 2 tablespoons unpopped
Calories: 170
Total fat: 12 grams
Saturated fat: 2.5 grams
Trans fat: 4.5 grams
Sodium: 380 milligrams

2. Cheetos Puffs
Nobody ever said that oddly textured cheese snacks were exactly healthy, but something about the non-greasiness and airy quality of Cheetos Puffs (vibrant hue aside) seems like this product might more benign than, let’s say, super salty fried potato chips. But … look at that total fat! That sodium! That’s half the daily fat and sodium limit for many children, right there in 2 ounces of snack.

Serving size: 2 ounces (56 grams)
Calories: 320
Total fat: 20 grams
Saturated fat: 4 grams
Sodium: 700 milligrams

3. Yoplait Original 99% Fat Free (various fruit flavors)
Yogurt is another should-be healthy snack that has been hijacked by the food industry. Many yogurts are made to be low- or non-fat but are loaded with added sugar and other ingredients that are completely superfluous.

Whereas a product like Fage 0% is made of only “Grade A Pasteurized Skimmed Milk, and Live Active Yogurt Cultures,” Yoplait Original includes sugar, modified corn starch, high fructose corn syrup, kosher gelatin, and tricalcium phosphate — yet no live and active cultures, which is one of the main reasons to be eating yogurt in the first place!

Serving Size: 1 container (170 grams)
Calories: 170
Total fat: 1.5 grams
Saturated fat: 1 gram
Sodium: 85 milligrams
Sugars: 26 grams

4. Ritz Bits Cracker Sandwiches
Cheese and crackers sounds innocuous enough, but a single serving of these guys has more sodium and more than twice the saturated fat, as a small order of Chicken McNuggets — and more sugar than two Hershey’s Kisses.

Serving size: 1 single serve package (42 grams)
Calories: 220
Total fat: 13 grams
Saturated fat 4.5 grams
Sodium: 480 milligrams
Sugars: 6 grams

5. Auntie Anne's Pepperoni Pretzel Pocket
Whole-wheat low-sodium pretzels are a good snack. Pepperoni Pretzel Pockets are a disaster. With more sodium, saturated fat and calories than a Big Mac, this one snack comes close to serving up the daily sodium and total fat limits for a child, not to mention the equivalent of nearly 3 teaspoons of granulated sugar.

Serving size: 1 pocket
Calories: 650
Total fat: 27 grams
Saturated fat 12 grams
Sodium: 1,120 milligrams
Sugars: 11 grams

6. Mott's Original Apple Sauce
This applesauce might just as well be called "high fructose corn syrup sauce," given that HFCS is the second ingredient after apples. Why do that to perfectly good apples? Apples aren't sweet enough?

Serving size: 1/2 cup (128g)
Calories: 110
Total fat: 0
Sugars: 25 grams

Instead, opt for the Mott's Natural Apple Sauce (No Sugar Added) version, which has only 50 calories and 12 grams of sugar.

7. Hostess Chocolate Pudding Pie
With the right spin, some could argue that a piece of pie isn’t the worst snack in the world. A small homemade slice filled with fruit and a light crust has some redeeming qualities. But the Hostess Chocolate Pudding Pie may, in fact, be the worst snack in the world! Why? In addition to its high fructose corn syrup, partially hydrogenated oils, beef fat and artificial colors, it has almost twice the sugar and fat of a similarly sized slice of homemade blueberry pie. And with its cheap price and easy portability, it’s all too easy to scarf down much of your daily calorie requirement in a few bites before you’ve even left the store.

Serving size: 1 pie (128g)
Calories: 520
Total fat: 24 grams
Saturated fat 12 grams
Sugars: 40 grams

8. Winchell’s Cranberry Nut Muffin
What has the same amount of calories as four Winchell’s Chocolate Cake Doughnuts and nearly the same amount of fat as three hot dogs? One Winchell’s Cranberry Nut Muffin! To its credit, this muffin is not nutritionally void (5 grams of fiber and 14 grams of protein) but just beware: the calories, fat and sugar lodge this item more in the cupcake category than healthy snack family.

Serving size: 1 muffin
Calories: 670
Total fat: 37 grams
Saturated fat: 6 grams
Sodium: 640 milligrams
Sugars: 43 grams

How can you make better choices?
Look for snacks that are high in protein, vitamins, minerals, fiber, but relatively lower in calories, total fat, saturated fat (no trans fat), sugar and sodium.

Look at the ingredients on the label. Most of us know that ingredients are listed in order from most to least, and we may look to see where something like sugars or fats are listed in the order. But ingredient groups aren't required to be listed together. So something could contain corn syrup, cane sugar, and malt syrup in seemingly minor quantities toward the bottom of the list — but if you combine them together in a general group of "sugar," they quickly move to the top.

If a label boasts a product was made with whole grains, check to see where on the ingredient list the word "whole" is. If the first ingredient is "whole" wheat flour (or other grain), that's good. Sometimes whole grains make up only a tiny fragment of the item, and that's not good.

Also, it helps to know recommended nutritional limits. Many adults know what their numbers are, and here's what Mayo Clinic recommends for kids:

Boys and girls 4-8: 1,200-2,000 calories depending on activity, 25-35 percent calories from fat, 1,200 milligrams sodium.
Boys and girls 9-13: 1,400-2,600 calories depending on activity, 25-35 percent calories from fat, 1,300 milligrams sodium.
Boys and girls 14-18: 1,800-3,200 calories depending on activity, 25-35 percent calories from fat, 1,500 milligrams sodium.

Total fat for the categories above: 33 to 47 grams for 1,200 daily calories; 39 to 54 grams for 1,400 daily calories; 44 to 62 grams for 1,600 daily calories; 50 to 70 grams for 1,800 daily calories; 56 to 78 grams for 2,000 daily calories.

Effects of Global Warming

1. Rising of the Sea Levels

When the surface temperature warms up, it causes a significant melting of ice from the glaciers, sea ice as well as the polar ice shelf. When this happens, it increases the quantity of water that flows into oceans all around the world & leads to sea levels rising dramatically, threatening numerous population centers which are positioned in the low-lying coast areas. Scientists have speculated that the melting of ice from Antarctica & Greenland could raise sea levels by over 20 feet till we reach 2100!

2. Heat Waves

Severe heat waves have become more common and the reason is that the greenhouse gases have been trapped inside the atmosphere. Studies state that these heat waves will keep on increasing over the years & become 100 times worse. This will result in a swell in illnesses that are heat-related and also trigger countless wildfires.

 3. Killer Storms

When the temperature of the oceans becomes warmer, it fuels storms that are more intense. Global warming shall cause storms to become extremely severe and the numbers will increase as well. The warm ocean water will fuel storm intensity & result in greater number of extremely devastating hurricanes. Effects such as these are being felt already today – we have seen that in the last 30 years, the severity & number of cyclones, hurricanes and storms have increased and they have nearly doubled. All this leads to floods, damage of property as well as loss of life.

 4. Drought

Droughts are on the opposite pole of this spectrum & we can see that they are already creating havoc on various parts of our planet. The climate is warming up & in turn dwindling the supply of water, leading to poor agricultural conditions. Because of this, crops are failing increasingly. There is a major shortage of water which is causing disruptions in the global production of food & making starvation increasingly widespread.

 5. Species becoming Extinct

Desertification, warming up of the ocean temperatures, as well as deforestation is all contributing to disastrous & irreversible changes that are occurring in the habitat  & threatening to endanger several species that might soon become extinct. Polar bear happens to be the prime example and we see that their numbers are continuously falling as they struggle to acclimatize to loss in ice in regions in arctic. One thing that is crucial for human success is biodiversity & the loss of precious flora & fauna because of mass extinction will threaten our entire planet.

 6. Disease

When there is a change in the habitat, it automatically translates to a rise in diseases all across the globe. Warmer temperatures, floods & droughts all combine & create a condition where rats, mosquitoes, as well as other pests that are disease-carrying not only thrive, but also adapt. Diseases such as cholera, West Nile virus, Lyme disease, dengue fever, etc. are ever increasing & are no longer limited to the tropical climates. It is seen that asthma is on a rise because of the increasing smog.

7. Disappearing Glaciers

All across the globe we are seeing that glaciers are shrinking & that too at a very alarming rate. The Glacier National Park boasted a whooping 150 glaciers once upon a time, but now those numbers have dwindled to a mere 35 because of an alarming rise in the temperature. Elsewhere, the areas that were once covered in permafrost have now become home to numerous colorful plant life that is non-native.

8. Wars

Worldwide conflicts & hostilities are on a rise as the numerous nations are competing for the resources that are dwindling. Not many of us are aware that the genocide that happened in Darfur region in Sudan was the consequence of ecological crisis that had roots in reduction of the natural resources that were brought about due to climatic changes. The wars in Somalia started under very similar circumstances. Today, experts dread that such increase in wars for water & food will result in hostility & aggression among some countries.

9. Economic Instability

A nation’s economy is directly correlated to the consequences of climatic changes. Natural disasters like floods as well as hurricanes are costly, there are cleanup costs, and there is extensive damage to property, people lose their incomes and yet they try to reconstruct their lives. Global crisis is leading to a rise in the costs of energy & food; there are more costly insurance premiums, there’s loss of tourism dollars & industrial profits.

10. Ecosystem Failure

The increase in the greenhouse gases is not only causing drastic changes in the higher atmosphere but it is causing havoc across our entire planet, thereby affecting water supply, clean air for agriculture output as well as energy resources. Plants & animals either die or they move to other habitats (non-native) when the ecosystems on which they depend to survive (like coral reefs) are threatened by the warming temperature of the sea & more acidic water. As the change in climate affects the way of life, even humans shall migrate – resulting in increased competition and war over the small quantity of resources.

Preventive Measures:
There are numerous ways in which we can prevent long-term effects of global warming. A reduction in energy consumption is the simplest way to reduce these effects. Other precautionary measures include:

We should install light bulbs that are energy-efficient;
Always turn down the A/C & heaters;
Start using bicycles or start walking to work instead of buying more cars;
Unplug your phones & computer chargers whenever you are not using them.

Most Destructive Computer Viruses

Computer viruses are harmful programs created by anti-social elements (hackers) which can self duplicate itself in the computer system to harm its smooth functioning. Computer viruses are not only a big cause of worry for casual computer users but they have also created problems for governments, hospitals, schools and huge organizations by destroying their systems. Computer viruses spread faster than a cold virus thanks to the Internet which connects almost every computer in the world through its amazing technology. In today's age it would really be impossible to function without a computer even for a single day, imagine the state of multi-billion dollar organizations who depend entirely on computers for their smooth functioning. Almost every computer virus originated is capable enough for major destruction, here are the names of some of the most destructive computer viruses that have made history.

Most Deadliest Computer Viruses are the most destructive computer viruses have caused damage worth billions of dollars, some have wiped of top secret documents from hard disks which could never be recovered again and most of them have affected the market by shutting down businesses for hours. Computer viruses are nothing but an online threat distributed through the Internet by hackers who like creating havoc in today's corporate world. Here are the viruses which have become immortal in the world of computers due to the amount of destruction caused by them.

Storm Worm
This virus came to the fore in the year 2006 and the public began speculating about it when it was sent to millions of computers in the form of an email saying, '230 dead as storm batters Europe'. Different companies called this virus by different names. Basically Storm Worm is a Trojan horse program which makes computers into zombies or bots. As the machines become infected, they can be controlled by the person who actually sent this worm. This virus is widespread, it is not very difficult to detect. Updating the computer anti-virus system is probably the best way to keep Storm Worm away.

ILOVEYOU aka Love Letter Virus
The ILOVEYOU virus is still known as the most dangerous virus ever written by a hacker. It is still regarded the most deadliest computer virus of all time which caused companies a loss of more than $10 billion. The virus expanded by spreading itself through email. Once the user opened the email, the virus attached itself to the memory and infected all important files and folders. Once in the computer the virus tries to reach other users by scanning all the addresses in the Microsoft Outlook List of the current user. The virus was originally written by a Filipino programmer who was still pursuing his college education at that time. This virus spread through the entire world in just 24 hours and affected system of multinational companies and also the Pentagon resulting in loses worth billions of dollars.

Leap-A
Leap-A gathered a lot of press attention because it is one of those few viruses which have been successful in corrupting MAC systems. Yes, Apple is known to make software and hardware systems which are resistant to viruses, the company protects their systems by sending regular updates to their users. MAC computers are protected from virus attacks with the help of a concept called Security through Obscurity. However, due to the recent popularity of MAC system, in 2006 a hacker created the Leap-A virus which uses the iChat messaging system to travel through various vulnerable MAC computers.

Melissa
Another destructive virus which made worldwide headlines, Melissa virus was a type of mass-mailing malware which affected more than 20% of computers worldwide. Computers who worked on Microsoft, Intel were the worst sufferers and companies who used Microsoft Outlook for their emails also incurred heavy losses. The Melissa virus traveled through email with an MS Word attachment and when users opened it, the virus immediately mailed itself to the first 50 people in the Outlook list.

CIH aka Chernobyl Virus
Not only the name but the virus itself was so destructive that it's release made international headlines all around the world. CIH was the most dreaded computer virus because it had the ability to remain undetected in a computer's memory for a very long time. Once in the system, it used to hamper every program that was run. The virus first debuted in 1998 and affected various Windows systems of 95 and 98. This virus was also equipped with a trigger date and once the date was reached , the virus overwrote the files on the hard drive and destroyed it original contents.

Code Red
Code Red was a computer worm which debuted in the world of computers in the year 2001. It specifically attacked computers running the Microsoft's IIS web server. It suppressed the Windows system by acting as a buffer overflow and sent huge amounts of data to the computer so that it is forced to shut down.

Even though technology today is highly advanced and secure, systems and networks keep getting infected again and again. This is because people don't spend enough money on a good anti-virus software and most of them are too lazy to update their anti-virus software after regular intervals.

Star Fruits Can Kill

This fruit can end your life!

This is not an April Fool Joke. But a stern reminder to all my readers. We were advised to have a few servings of fruits a day in order to rep the benefits of fruits right? But obviously this is one big no-no fruit to be excluded from your fruity feast!

In Shenzen, more than 10 people who consumes the star fruit had died. And now a 66-year-old, Malaysian who has been suffering from kidney ailment fell into coma after eating the star fruits. Yes, all it takes is one fruit or 100ml of its juice and the ordinarily harmless star fruit transforms poison in a matter of hours for kidney patients. So does this mean, people without kidney problems should be fine with star fruit! My take: Not at all! Prevention is better right?

Universiti Malaya Medical Centre consultant nephrologist said that star fruits contain a neurotoxin which is not present in other fruits. It affects the brain and nerves. In healthy persons, the kidneys filter it out. But for those with kidney problems, this potent toxin cannot be removed and will worsen the consumers' conditions.

The symptoms of start fruit poisoning include:

~ Hiccups

~ Numbness and weakness

~ Feeling confused

~ Agitation

~ Epileptic fist

The risk of death is high if you are having kidney ailments! But healthy individuals should beware of this fruit's potential toxin too.
It could also cripple your vitality if you are not lucky. So don't take it for granted. It's better to avoid them. Please pass this news to others.

So be warned. If you have kidney impairment, DO NOT consume Starfruit or Starfruit juice.

Top 10 Poisonous Animals

# 10. Inland Taipan Snake
This is the most poisonous animal in the snake category. A single bite can kill up to a 100 human adults. The venom is so neuro-toxic that it can kill a human in less than 45 minutes. It's venom is about 400 times more toxic than that of the cobra, making it one of the most venomous snakes in the world.
 # 9. Poison Dart Frog
The backs of the poison dart frog ooze a slimy neurotoxin that is meant to keep predators away. Each frog produces enough of the toxin to kill 10 humans, though, strangely, in captivity, the frogs do not secrete this poison. The frogs are brilliantly coloured and live mainly in Central and South America.
 # 8. Stone Fish
This fish is found in the Pacific and Indian ocean and is the most poisonous animal as far as the sea is concerned. It stores its toxins in deadly spikes that are found on the surface of it's body and hurts it's predators really badly. Often described as 'The worst pain known to man', the stonefish administers a sting that can cause a human to go into shock, paralysis and can lead to the death of tissues. If immediate medical attention is not administered, then it can cause amputations and deaths in humans.
 # 7. Marbled Cone Snail
These snails are found in the salt water environment. One drop of the venom of the marbled cone snail is enough to kill about 20 humans. A bite will result in severe pain, numbness, tingling and swelling in the area of the bite. It may also lead to breathing failure, muscle paralysis and vision changes. There is no anti-venom available for the this creature's bite.

# 6. Puffer Fish
Puffer Fish are the second most poisonous vertebrate on earth (the first one is golden dart Frog). The meat of some species is a delicacy in both Japan (as fugu ) and Korea (as bok-uh ) but the problem is that the skin and certain organs of many puffer fish are very poisonous to humans.
This puffy fish produce rapid and violent death..Puffer's poisoning causes deadening of the tongue and lips, dizziness, vomiting, rapid heart rate, difficulty breathing, and muscle paralysis. Victims die from suffocation as diaphragm muscles are paralyzed. Most of the victims die after four to 24 hours. There is no known antidote, Most deaths from fugu happen when untrained people catch and prepare the fish.
Statistics show that there were 20 to 44 incidents of fugu poisoning per year between 1996 and 2006 in all of Japan and up to six incidents per year led to death. Since Fugu's poison can cause near instantaneous death, only licensed chefs are allowed to prepare it.
 # 5. Death Stalker Scorpion
Contrarily to the popular belief most of the scorpions are relatively harmless to humans as stings produce only local effects (pain, numbness or swelling). However, the Death Starker Scorpion is highly dangerous species because its venom is a powerful cocktail of neurotoxins which causes an intense and unbearable pain, then fever, followed by coma, convulsions, paralysis and death. Fortunately, while a sting from this scorpion is extremely painful, it would be unlikely to kill a healthy, adult human. Young children, the old, or infirm (with a heart condition) are at the biggest risk.
Death stalker scorpions are spread in North Africa and Middle East.

# 4. Box Jellyfish
Also known as the wasp jellyfish, this salad-bowl sized jellyfish can have up to 60 tentacles as long as 15 feet. Each tentacle has enough toxin to kill 50 humans. They are found in Australia, the Philippines, and many other tropical areas. Since 1884 at least 5,567 deaths have been attributed to these creatures.
# 3. Blue-Ringed Octopus

The Blue-Ringed Octopus is very small, only the size of a golf ball, but its venom is so powerful that can kill a human. Actually it carries enough poison to kill 26 adult humans within minutes, and there is no antidote. They are currently recognized as one of the world's most venomous animals.
Its painless bite may seem harmless, but the deadly neurotoxins begin working immediately resulting in muscular weakness, numbness, followed by a cessation and breathing and ultimately death.
They can be found in tide pools in the Pacific Ocean, from Japan to Australia.

# 2. Asian Cobra
While the Asian cobra does not have the deadliest venom, it does make the most of what it has, causing the largest chunk of the 50 thousand deaths by snakebite per year. An average cobra is about 1 metre in length.

# 1. Brazillian Wandering Spider
The Brazilian wandering spider, also known as the Banana spider or the Phoneutria, is one of the most poisonous animal alive. It's toxins are so lethal that a minuscule amount which equals 0.006 mg can kill a mouse. This most poisonous spider is said to contain the most potent neuro-toxic venom among all other spiders. This spider administers a venomous sting that not only causes excruciating pain but can also lead to Priapism (Uncomfortable degrees of erections that end up lasting for many hours and can lead to impotence) in males. What adds to these spider's lethal powers is the fact that they hide during the daytime in populated areas and therefore the chances of bites are upped.

Headache

Headache is becoming very common among all of us due to highly technical, busy daily schedule. Long hours on computer, stress and tension all triggers headache. Although most headaches are mild and temporary, but some people have headaches that are so severe they need to consult a doctor for pain relief.

Main causes of headache:
  • Prolonged tension or stress, known as tension headaches
  • Migraine is especially triggered due to hormonal changes, certain foods, strong odors, lack of sleep and even stress.
  • Eyestrain
  • Smoking
  • Light sensitivity
  • Sitting constantly in an abnormal position.
  • Sinus headaches can occur after upper respiratory infections such as a cold.
  • Cluster headaches are a relatively uncommon type of headache. They tend to occur in clusters over a few days, weeks or months with long headache-free periods lasting from months to years.
Although headaches can be painful and debilitating, they are usually not due to dangerous conditions. However, occasionally headaches can be a sign of something more serious.
When to contact doctor:
  • Gets worse over days or weeks
  • Is accompanied by impaired neurological function and double vision.
  • If causes nausea and vomiting
  • seizures, mental disturbances, and loss of consciousness
  • Fever and/or stiff neck along with headache.
  • strikes suddenly with great intensity
  • You just can't sleep and is worse when you lie down
Treatment:
  • Taking an over-the-counter painkiller such as acetaminophen or ibuprofen helps a lot.
  • Take proper rest and prevent from eyestrain.
  • Correcting poor posture and exercising
  • Sinus headaches usually require antibiotics or other treatments to clear up the infection.
  • Stronger medications may need to be prescribed if the headaches are more severe.
  • Chiropractic spinal manipulation - the primary form of care provided by doctors of chiropractic - may be an effective treatment option for tension headaches and headaches that originate in the neck.
Preventive measures:
  • Recognize the reason of your headache and try to avoid the situation.
  • Take proper rest and exercise daily.
  • Proper sleep.
  • Get your eyes tested.
  • Try to be in stress free environment.
  • Always sit in correct posture.
  • Avoid constantly looking at TV or computer.
  • Avoid any food or drinks, such as those containing caffeine, that seem to trigger headaches.
  • Certain medications taken at regular intervals may reduce the frequency and severity of headaches. Your doctor may recommend preventive medication.
Keep a headache diary. Gradually you will be able to know the trigger for your headache, knowing the trigger means half battle won.

7 Causes of Fainting

Fainting (syncope) is lost consciousness suddenly, usually only a few seconds or minutes, because your brain is not getting enough oxygen.
The brain has several parts, including the two hemispheres, cerebellum, and brain stem. The brain requires blood flow to provide oxygen and glucose into the cells. For your body to remain conscious, an area known as the reticular activating system located in the brainstem should live, and at least one hemisphere of the brain must function. Fainting occurs when the reticular activating system or both hemispheres of the brain is deprived of blood, oxygen, or glucose.
Fainting mostly triggered by the vagus nerve that connects the digestive system to the brain and play a role managing the flow of blood to the brain and gut. Overstimulation vagus nerve slows the heart rate and lowering blood pressure, thereby reducing the intake of blood to the brain, causing fainting. Stress, fear, anxiety, panic, and strong pain can stimulate the vagus nerve.

1. Reaction of the vagus nerve
Before fainting, you usually feel dizzy, dizzy, the room such as spinning, nausea and cold sweats. You also may experience blurred vision or hearing whistling. If you feel like going to faint, lie down. If you are unable to lie down, sit and squat by putting your head between your knees. This helps blood flow to your brain. Wait until you feel better before trying to stand. When you stand up, do it slowly.

2. Changes in blood pressure

Changes in blood pressure can cause you to faint. Sometimes, the heart and blood vessels do not react fast enough when you change your body's oxygen needs. It is very common in the elderly and in people who have certain health conditions, like diabetes. Fainting may occur if you stand too long or work harder than ability.

3. Anemia
Anemia (deficiency of red blood cells) can cause fainting because not enough red blood cells to supply oxygen to the brain. Anemia can be caused by lack of iron intake, disease or bleeding (eg, excessive menstruation).

4. Dehydration
Lack of fluid in the body (dehydration) also can cause fainting. Dehydration can be caused by vomiting, diarrhea, fever, sweating, burns or less drinking. Some diseases like diabetes can also cause dehydration due to too frequent urination. Vomiting and diarrhea, in particular, also stimulates the vagus nerve so that the double effect.

5. Shock
Shock is a condition characterized by low blood pressure which can lead to loss of consciousness. Shock is a dangerous state of emergency that usually originates from bleeding, but also can come from severe allergies (anaphylaxis) or a severe infection. Victims usually looks confused shock, before losing consciousness when his condition worsened.

6. Drug
Drugs that are intended to control the action of high blood pressure can be too much to lower blood pressure causing fainting. Alcohol, cocaine and marijuana also can cause fainting. Talk with your doctor if you think your fainting may be related to medications you use.

7. Hypoglycemia
Lack of blood sugar (hypoglycemia) can make you faint. Hypoglycemia is not only caused by diabetes, but also because you do not eat for a long time.
